The secret to the best Shakeology recipe

The secret to the best Shakeology recipe

Saturday morning meal prep consists of a quick trip to Sam’s Club before the rain hits to get some paleo grocery staples and then prepping my bananas.

Psssst…

C’mere I want to tell you a secret.

1/2 pre-sliced frozen banana is the secret to making my Shakeology so thick & dreamy. 1/2 pre-sliced frozen banana added into my morning Shakeology is the KEY and holds together my master Shakeology recipe formula. This master formula is the best Shakeology recipe of all the many variations and concotions I’ve tried in the last year and a half.

As much as I love tinkering with my shake to get the exact flavor I want each morning, this is truly the BEST Shakeology recipe of them all:

The Best Shakeology Recipe

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (1 Yellow)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 scoop Shakeology (1 Red)
  • 1 Tsp nutbutter of choice — His: Peanut Butter, Hers: Sunbutter (1 Tsp)
  • 1/2 pre-sliced frozen banana (1 Purple)
  • raw spinach (1 Green)

Not only does this taste fantastic and keeps me and the hubby full for 3-4 hours, it is a totally well rounded meal. Just look at those container colors! This Shakeology recipe has a serving of carbs, protein, healthy fat, fruit, veggies and best of all SUPERFOODS!

That does it for meal prep! Just prepping my bananas. No other advance work needed and I’m ready for the week!

How to eat healthy when you don’t feel like cooking

Problem: On my own for dinner and just do not feel like cooking… BUT I know I want to have a well-rounded healthy meal.

Solution: My version of “breakfast for dinner.” This is my Green Pancake Shake. It’s got all they key colors (i.e. food groups) in a balanced 21 Day Fix meal: carbs, protein, fruit, veggies and healthy fat.

Green Pancake Shake Recipe

  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (1/2 Yellow)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Shakeology (1 Red)
  • 1/2 frozen banana (1 Purple)
  • raw spinach (1 Green)
  • 1 tsp almond butter (1 Tsp)
  • 1/4 tsp maple extract
  • dash of cinnamon and nutmeg (and extra for garnish)
  • 1 1/2 cups ice

SO yummy! It tastes a little like pancake batter and nourishes like a superfood salad. And it took less than 5 minutes to blend up in my trusty blender. BOOM!

Pumpkin Spice Shakeology

Pumpkin Spice Shakeology

I made it until September 10 before bowing to the power of pumpkin spice everything. 🍁🎃

No more artificial, devoid of nutrition Pumpkin Spice fill-in-the-blank for me. I’m satisfying my Pumpkin Spice cravings with super foods this fall! These flavors make the weather finally cool off, right?!

To dip my toes into the fall flavor I made this first Pumpkin Spice Shake a little mild (I reeeeaaaaally like a lot of pumpkin).

Pumpkin Spice Shakeology Recipe:

  • 1 scoop Vanilla Shakeology
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 heaping spoonful of pumpkin
  • 1/4 tsp maple extract
  • pumpkin pie spice to taste
  • fresh ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cup ice

Almond Joy Shake Version 3

Almond Joy Shake version 3

Chocolate Coconut Almond. I LOOOOVE this flavor combo! This is my third version of this shake. It tastes like an Almond Joy and nourishes like a superfood salad.

Almond Joy Shake (version 3)

  • 1.5 cup water
  • 1 scoop Vegan Chocolate Shakeology
  • 1 teaspoon coconut extract
  • 1 dollop Trader Joe’s No Salt Almond Butter
  • 1 cup cubed ice
  • 1 cup crushed ice

On 21 Day Fix this is: 1 Red and 1 – 2 Tsp (depending on how generous your dollop of almond butter is).

Be sure to try my first two versions of the Almond Joy Shake… you can tweak the proportions of coconut, chocolate and almond until the cows come home. Which one do you like best?
